# Real Go Board vs GoQuest

The clearest difference is rating: GoQuest at 4.7 against Real Go Board's 3.8. GoQuest also leads on ratings volume (574 vs 24). Real Go Board's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (82% vs 68%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Real Go Board sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and GoQuest sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GoQuest holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GoQuest has 574 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Real Go Board's written reviews are positive against 68% of GoQuest's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Real Go Board ships an update every 3 weeks, GoQuest every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
