# MyU vs AcadAI

The clearest difference is monetization model: MyU at freemium against AcadAI's subscription. MyU also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 48%) and ratings volume (23K vs 2.1K). AcadAI's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyU sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and AcadAI sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for MyU against 4.6 for AcadAI. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyU has 23K ratings behind it against 2.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 67% of MyU's written reviews are positive against 48% of AcadAI's.

MyU ships an update every 8 days, AcadAI weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
