# MyAniList vs Paperback

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Paperback at none against MyAniList's 10. Paperback also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). MyAniList's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (24K vs 645). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyAniList sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Paperback asks for nothing beyond the download.

MyAniList holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyAniList has 24K ratings behind it against 645, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of MyAniList's written reviews are positive against 54% of Paperback's.

MyAniList ships an update every 5 days, Paperback every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
