# SteakMate vs HelloFresh

The clearest difference is rating: HelloFresh at 4.7 against SteakMate's 3.6. HelloFresh also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (219K vs 8). SteakMate's advantage is review sentiment (70% vs 41%) and iOS requirement (13.0.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HelloFresh holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HelloFresh has 219K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of SteakMate's written reviews are positive against 41% of HelloFresh's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SteakMate ships an update every 5 months, HelloFresh weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
