# Language Magazine vs BidNote

The clearest difference is monetization model: BidNote at free with in-app purchases against Language Magazine's subscription. BidNote also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). Language Magazine's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Language Magazine sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year and BidNote sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Language Magazine holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 4 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Language Magazine ships an update every 3 months, BidNote weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 1, 2026 and June 7, 2026 respectively.
