# PDF Expert vs inspectX

PDF Expert and inspectX both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of inspectX's written reviews are positive against 45% of PDF Expert's. inspectX also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 12). PDF Expert's advantage is ratings volume (216K vs 36) and chart position (#74 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Expert sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. inspectX asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for PDF Expert against 4.7 for inspectX. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Expert has 216K ratings behind it against 36, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 45% of PDF Expert's written reviews are positive against 100% of inspectX's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
