# PDF Expert vs Word Editor

The clearest difference is ratings volume: PDF Expert at 217K against Word Editor's 1.5K. PDF Expert also leads on review sentiment (45% vs 34%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Expert sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Word Editor sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for PDF Expert against 4.7 for Word Editor. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Expert has 217K ratings behind it against 1.5K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 45% of PDF Expert's written reviews are positive against 34% of Word Editor's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
