# PDF Expert vs ConvertPilot

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ConvertPilot at 100% against PDF Expert's 45%. ConvertPilot also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). PDF Expert's advantage is ratings volume (217K vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Expert sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. ConvertPilot asks for nothing beyond the download.

ConvertPilot holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Expert has 217K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 45% of PDF Expert's written reviews are positive against 100% of ConvertPilot's.

PDF Expert ships an update fortnightly, ConvertPilot every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
