# Speedometer 2 vs SpeedTracker

The clearest difference is rating: SpeedTracker at 4.7 against Speedometer 2's 3.6. Speedometer 2's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly) and review sentiment (100% vs 92%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer 2 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SpeedTracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SpeedTracker holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Speedometer 2's written reviews are positive against 92% of SpeedTracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speedometer 2 ships an update every 2 weeks, SpeedTracker monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
