# KCLS vs SCLD Libraries

The clearest difference is rating: KCLS at 3.9 against SCLD Libraries's 2.6. SCLD Libraries's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

KCLS holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 16 and 13 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of KCLS's written reviews are positive against 33% of SCLD Libraries's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

KCLS ships an update every 3 months, SCLD Libraries monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
