# The Frame Camera vs Trichromatic

The clearest difference is rating: Trichromatic at 5.0 against The Frame Camera's 4.1. Trichromatic also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 months). The Frame Camera's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Frame Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Trichromatic sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Trichromatic holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Frame Camera has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

The Frame Camera ships an update every 4 months, Trichromatic every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
