# The Frame Camera vs Ugly Camera

The clearest difference is review sentiment: The Frame Camera at 100% against Ugly Camera's 72%. The Frame Camera also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.0). Ugly Camera's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (127 vs 13). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Frame Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Ugly Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ugly Camera holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ugly Camera has 127 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of The Frame Camera's written reviews are positive against 72% of Ugly Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Frame Camera ships an update every 4 months, Ugly Camera every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
