# NightCap Camera vs The Phenom App

The clearest difference is price: The Phenom App at Free against NightCap Camera's $2.99. NightCap Camera's advantage is review sentiment (51% vs 25%) and ratings volume (3K vs 6). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

The Phenom App is free to download; NightCap Camera costs $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Phenom App holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NightCap Camera has 3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of NightCap Camera's written reviews are positive against 25% of The Phenom App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NightCap Camera ships an update every 3 weeks, The Phenom App every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
