# MapMeter vs AQS

The clearest difference is update cadence: AQS at every 5 weeks against MapMeter's every 13 months. MapMeter's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MapMeter ships an update every 13 months, AQS every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
