# The Weekly Packet vs NewsAtomic

The clearest difference is update cadence: NewsAtomic at monthly against The Weekly Packet's every 4 months. The Weekly Packet's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Weekly Packet sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and NewsAtomic sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Weekly Packet ships an update every 4 months, NewsAtomic monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
