# Mouse for Cats vs Mandarin Challenge

The clearest difference is price: Mouse for Cats at Free against Mandarin Challenge's $0.49. Mouse for Cats also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 57%) and ratings volume (923 vs 35). Mandarin Challenge's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and rating (4.4 vs 4.1). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Mouse for Cats is free to download; Mandarin Challenge costs $0.49 up front. Mouse for Cats sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Mandarin Challenge sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mandarin Challenge holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mouse for Cats has 923 ratings behind it against 35, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Mouse for Cats's written reviews are positive against 57% of Mandarin Challenge's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mouse for Cats ships an update every 2 months, Mandarin Challenge weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
