# Fragment vs Flipper

The clearest difference is price: Flipper at Free against Fragment's $4.99. Flipper also leads on ratings volume (8.2K vs 389). Fragment's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (84% vs 52%). On rating, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Flipper is free to download; Fragment costs $4.99 up front. Fragment sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Flipper sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Fragment against 4.6 for Flipper. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flipper has 8.2K ratings behind it against 389, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 84% of Fragment's written reviews are positive against 52% of Flipper's.

Fragment ships an update every 6 weeks, Flipper every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
