# Fliptastic vs Slideshow Maker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Fliptastic at free with in-app purchases against Slideshow Maker's subscription. Fliptastic also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3). Slideshow Maker's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 58%) and update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fliptastic sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Slideshow Maker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fliptastic holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Slideshow Maker has 3.1K ratings behind it against 575, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of Fliptastic's written reviews are positive against 78% of Slideshow Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fliptastic ships an update monthly, Slideshow Maker every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
