# Fliptastic vs Slideshow Video

The clearest difference is monetization model: Fliptastic at free with in-app purchases against Slideshow Video's subscription. Fliptastic also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 11 months). Slideshow Video's advantage is review sentiment (66% vs 58%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fliptastic sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Slideshow Video sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fliptastic holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 574 and 290 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of Fliptastic's written reviews are positive against 66% of Slideshow Video's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fliptastic ships an update every 2 months, Slideshow Video every 11 months. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
