# Fliptastic vs Slideshow Maker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Slideshow Maker at 100% against Fliptastic's 58%. Fliptastic's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.6 vs 4.2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fliptastic sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Slideshow Maker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fliptastic holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fliptastic has 573 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of Fliptastic's written reviews are positive against 100% of Slideshow Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fliptastic ships an update every 2 months, Slideshow Maker monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
