# SpotCrime+ vs Brinks Home

The clearest difference is rating: Brinks Home at 4.6 against SpotCrime+'s 3.7. Brinks Home also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 14 months). SpotCrime+'s advantage is review sentiment (35% vs 16%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Brinks Home holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brinks Home has 21K ratings behind it against 694, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of SpotCrime+'s written reviews are positive against 16% of Brinks Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SpotCrime+ ships an update every 14 months, Brinks Home every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
