# Hidden Express vs Buster's Journey

The clearest difference is rating: Hidden Express at 4.6 against Buster's Journey's 3.9. Hidden Express also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (385 vs 9). Buster's Journey's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hidden Express sells 12 one-off in-app purchases and Buster's Journey sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hidden Express holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hidden Express has 385 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Hidden Express's written reviews are positive against 73% of Buster's Journey's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hidden Express ships an update every 5 weeks, Buster's Journey fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
