# MagLoft vs AlterEgo

The clearest difference is update cadence: MagLoft at every 6 weeks against AlterEgo's every 6 months. MagLoft also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MagLoft sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and AlterEgo sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MagLoft ships an update every 6 weeks, AlterEgo every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
