# F vs NewNode VPN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: F at 67% against NewNode VPN's 13%. F also leads on rating (4.5 vs 3.6) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 40). NewNode VPN's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. F sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. NewNode VPN asks for nothing beyond the download.

F holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: F has 1.1K ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of F's written reviews are positive against 13% of NewNode VPN's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
