# Newforma Capture vs AIA Events

The clearest difference is rating: AIA Events at 3.5 against Newforma Capture's 2.2. AIA Events also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 months). Newforma Capture's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.4). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Newforma Capture sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. AIA Events asks for nothing beyond the download.

AIA Events holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AIA Events has 243 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of Newforma Capture's written reviews are positive against 8% of AIA Events's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Newforma Capture ships an update every 3 months, AIA Events every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
