# Step In Time vs DanStream

The clearest difference is rating: DanStream at 4.5 against Step In Time's 4.2. DanStream also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.2). Step In Time's advantage is ratings volume (19 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Step In Time sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and DanStream sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DanStream holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Step In Time has 19 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Step In Time's written reviews are positive against 67% of DanStream's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Step In Time ships an update every 2 months, DanStream every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
