# iA Writer vs TP

The clearest difference is review sentiment: iA Writer at 73% against TP's 17%. iA Writer also leads on rating (4.6 vs 2.4) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 8 months). TP's advantage is price (Free vs $19.99) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

TP is free to download; iA Writer costs $19.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

iA Writer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.4.
