# UQU vs Bites

The clearest difference is rating: Bites at 4.6 against UQU's 2.9. Bites also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (2.2K vs 161). UQU's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (51% vs 43%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bites sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. UQU asks for nothing beyond the download.

Bites holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bites has 2.2K ratings behind it against 161, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of UQU's written reviews are positive against 43% of Bites's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UQU ships an update every 2 months, Bites fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
