# Just Salad vs FreshFin

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Just Salad at 17K against FreshFin's 440. Just Salad also leads on chart position (#203 vs unranked). FreshFin's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Just Salad against 4.7 for FreshFin. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Just Salad has 17K ratings behind it against 440, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 36% of Just Salad's written reviews are positive against 33% of FreshFin's.

Just Salad ships an update every 6 weeks, FreshFin every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
