# Just Salad vs Compton's

The clearest difference is update cadence: Just Salad at every 6 weeks against Compton's's every 10 months. Just Salad also leads on ratings volume (17K vs 16) and chart position (#189 vs unranked). Compton's's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 36%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Just Salad against 4.8 for Compton's. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Just Salad has 17K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 36% of Just Salad's written reviews are positive against 50% of Compton's's.

Just Salad ships an update every 6 weeks, Compton's every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
