# Just Salad vs PlateRate

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Just Salad at 17K against PlateRate's 1. Just Salad also leads on chart position (#168 vs unranked). PlateRate's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PlateRate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Just Salad has 17K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Just Salad ships an update every 6 weeks, PlateRate every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
