# FlixBus vs BusExpress

The clearest difference is rating: FlixBus at 4.8 against BusExpress's 1.0. FlixBus also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (96K vs 1). BusExpress's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 37%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

FlixBus holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlixBus has 96K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of FlixBus's written reviews are positive against 67% of BusExpress's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FlixBus ships an update every 8 days, BusExpress every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
