# Outread vs Aurelius

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Aurelius at none against Outread's 10. Aurelius also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). Outread's advantage is ratings volume (1.4K vs 4) and chart position (#190 vs unranked). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Outread sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Aurelius asks for nothing beyond the download.

Aurelius holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Outread has 1.4K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Outread ships an update every 3 weeks, Aurelius every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
