# 8bit Santa Gotchi vs 3D Pinata

The clearest difference is ads: 8bit Santa Gotchi at none against 3D Pinata's shown. 8bit Santa Gotchi also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). 3D Pinata's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 12 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

3D Pinata holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 8bit Santa Gotchi has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of 8bit Santa Gotchi's written reviews are positive against 67% of 3D Pinata's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

8bit Santa Gotchi ships an update every 12 months, 3D Pinata every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
