# SHARK vs STAR

SHARK and STAR both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 69% of SHARK's written reviews are positive against 0% of STAR's. SHARK also leads on ratings volume (640 vs 33). STAR's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for SHARK against 4.8 for STAR. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SHARK has 640 ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 69% of SHARK's written reviews are positive against 0% of STAR's.

SHARK ships an update every 6 weeks, STAR every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
