# Fieldwire vs Crangle

The clearest difference is monetization model: Fieldwire at free with in-app purchases against Crangle's subscription. Fieldwire also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 154) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Crangle's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fieldwire sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Crangle sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fieldwire holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fieldwire has 14K ratings behind it against 154, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Fieldwire's written reviews are positive against 71% of Crangle's.

Fieldwire ships an update every 2 weeks, Crangle every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 2, 2026.
