# Fieldwire vs PlanoTrak

The clearest difference is monetization model: PlanoTrak at free against Fieldwire's free with in-app purchases. PlanoTrak also leads on device support (4 vs 2). Fieldwire's advantage is ratings volume (14K vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fieldwire sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PlanoTrak sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PlanoTrak holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fieldwire has 14K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Fieldwire ships an update every 2 weeks, PlanoTrak every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
