# Poker Nerd vs Crazy Eights

Poker Nerd and Crazy Eights both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Poker Nerd's written reviews are positive against 50% of Crazy Eights's. Poker Nerd also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Crazy Eights's advantage is ratings volume (23K vs 3) and chart position (#167 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Poker Nerd sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Crazy Eights sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Poker Nerd against 4.8 for Crazy Eights. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crazy Eights has 23K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Poker Nerd's written reviews are positive against 50% of Crazy Eights's.

Poker Nerd ships an update every 2 months, Crazy Eights every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
