# Shifter vs CGNovels

The clearest difference is rating: CGNovels at 5.0 against Shifter's 4.4. CGNovels also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 3 months). Shifter's advantage is ratings volume (24 vs 2) and iOS requirement (6.1 vs 13.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shifter sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and CGNovels sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CGNovels holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shifter has 24 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Shifter ships an update every 3 months, CGNovels daily. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
