# CanvasView vs The Document Converter

The clearest difference is rating: The Document Converter at 4.7 against CanvasView's 3.3. The Document Converter also leads on ratings volume (6K vs 8) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 26.0). CanvasView's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and review sentiment (50% vs 36%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Document Converter sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. CanvasView asks for nothing beyond the download.

The Document Converter holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Document Converter has 6K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of CanvasView's written reviews are positive against 36% of The Document Converter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CanvasView ships an update every 3 months, The Document Converter every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
