# AES Crypt vs AxCrypt Encryption

The clearest difference is rating: AxCrypt Encryption at 4.8 against AES Crypt's 2.8. AxCrypt Encryption also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 9 months). AES Crypt's advantage is ratings volume (28 vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AES Crypt sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year and AxCrypt Encryption sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
