# My Homework vs SnapType

The clearest difference is rating: My Homework at 5.0 against SnapType's 4.5. My Homework also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). SnapType's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (366 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. My Homework sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SnapType sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $49.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

My Homework holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SnapType has 366 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of My Homework's written reviews are positive against 64% of SnapType's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

My Homework ships an update every 7 months, SnapType every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
