# NMG vs Prime Protect

The clearest difference is update cadence: Prime Protect at every 4 weeks against NMG's every 20 months. Prime Protect also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NMG ships an update every 20 months, Prime Protect every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
