# Le VPN vs PDF Scanner

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Le VPN at 72% against PDF Scanner's 25%. Le VPN also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and rating (4.9 vs 4.5). PDF Scanner's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and iOS requirement (14.1 vs 16.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Le VPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and PDF Scanner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Le VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Le VPN has 923 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 72% of Le VPN's written reviews are positive against 25% of PDF Scanner's.

Le VPN ships an update fortnightly, PDF Scanner every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
