# Petro vs YoGPS

The clearest difference is rating: Petro at 4.3 against YoGPS's 3.0. Petro also leads on ratings volume (260 vs 1). YoGPS's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 11%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Petro holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Petro has 260 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 11% of Petro's written reviews are positive against 50% of YoGPS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Petro ships an update every 11 days, YoGPS every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
