# SG Libraries vs NovelSea

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SG Libraries at 92% against NovelSea's 0%. SG Libraries also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.0). NovelSea's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SG Libraries sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and NovelSea sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NovelSea holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of SG Libraries's written reviews are positive against 0% of NovelSea's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SG Libraries ships an update every 5 weeks, NovelSea every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
