# RevHeadz Engine Sounds vs Fileplay

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Fileplay at none against RevHeadz Engine Sounds's 10. Fileplay also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months). RevHeadz Engine Sounds's advantage is review sentiment (69% vs 48%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RevHeadz Engine Sounds sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Fileplay asks for nothing beyond the download.

Fileplay holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.4K and 4.2K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of RevHeadz Engine Sounds's written reviews are positive against 48% of Fileplay's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RevHeadz Engine Sounds ships an update every 3 months, Fileplay every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
