# Avast Secureline VPN Proxy vs Potatso

The clearest difference is monetization model: Potatso at free with in-app purchases against Avast Secureline VPN Proxy's subscription. Potatso also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (58% vs 46%). Avast Secureline VPN Proxy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Avast Secureline VPN Proxy sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Potatso sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Avast Secureline VPN Proxy holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 24K and 6.1K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Avast Secureline VPN Proxy's written reviews are positive against 58% of Potatso's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Avast Secureline VPN Proxy ships an update every 2 months, Potatso fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
