# BabySparks vs Kindersteps

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Kindersteps at 100% against BabySparks's 56%. Kindersteps also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). BabySparks's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (13K vs 3). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BabySparks sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Kindersteps asks for nothing beyond the download.

BabySparks holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BabySparks has 13K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of BabySparks's written reviews are positive against 100% of Kindersteps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BabySparks ships an update every 3 weeks, Kindersteps every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
