# SketchUp vs Lexy PDF Viewer

The clearest difference is monetization model: SketchUp at free with in-app purchases against Lexy PDF Viewer's subscription. SketchUp also leads on ratings volume (18K vs 185) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Lexy PDF Viewer's advantage is review sentiment (68% vs 37%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SketchUp sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month and Lexy PDF Viewer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $12.90 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for SketchUp against 4.5 for Lexy PDF Viewer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SketchUp has 18K ratings behind it against 185, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 37% of SketchUp's written reviews are positive against 68% of Lexy PDF Viewer's.

SketchUp ships an update every 3 weeks, Lexy PDF Viewer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
